So, uh, how much catching up do I have to do? I'm guessing a lot.

I am sick sick sick sick sick sick sick.

The only things keeping me going right now are coffee and Advil and guilt over having already taken two sick days this week so I can't take another and oh god look how high shit is piled on the desk I left completely clean the last time I was here.

So here I am dutifully stuffing envelopes and trying not to puke. At least the place I buy my bagels in the morning has started carrying Naked juice, so I picked up a Green Machine and slammed it. It's helping a bit. Just a bit.

And I have an insanely busy weekend coming up. Part of which includes a parental visit. Thankfully my mom's not staying with us, because I just don't think I have enough in me to prepare the place for a parent to sleep in. Ha ha no.

And tonight is the going away party for one of my very dear friends who is fucking off back to Minnesota for good and I've been planning to give him a great send off with everyone getting totally smashed and staying up until the wee smalls and generally having a good time and arrgh. And of course, all that's still going to be happening. I'm just going to be sitting there in the corner fighting for stamina and nursing one beer until I just can't stay awake anymore. OR, I'll get a second wind due to the good feelings of all my friends, and think I'm fine, and drink waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much, and then pay for it tomorrow.

I am kinda frustrated with some RL *keysmash* so I'm turning to the interbutts for some much needed distraction. Yes.

So I've been doing this DRABBLE TREE for, er, 6 months now (??? Crap in a hat!) and I thought I'd get some feedback on it from y'all (and anyone else who particpates/lurks/what-have-you).

For reasons unbeknownst to my conscious mind, I am having serious fic cravings. For a (as far as I can tell) pretty damn rare threesome ship. Moreover, I'm craving meaty, angsty, hurt/comfort fic of this ship. (Seriously, wtf self?) I don't even know if it exists anywhere. Judging from the size of the fandom, and given hello, internets, I'm guessing it does. But ha ha, good luck trying to find it, self. I've been scrolling through rarepair comms for a little bit, and the closest I've come is a couple of drabbles for one 'side' of the threesome. While that's my favorite two person pair of the threesome, I'd really like to see all three please.

Also, what little I've found is relatively fluffy, and well, just no. o___O You guys know me, I love the fluff, but holy crap is this not a fluffy ship. It breaks my brain a little to think about cutesy fic for it.

I'm actually tempted to write it myself, but me and H/C don't really get along too well. Nope, not a bit. Also, I wouldn't know what to do with it if I did manage to write it. It doesn't look like too many other people besides me are interested. At least, not from what I can find. Oh lordy.

Similarly, I'm craving some good old fashioned Whump. Non pairing-specific this time. Hell, not even fandom-specific, really. Just some juicy whump!fic to sink my teeth into.

And this is sorta related, mostly because I'm thinking about it in conjunction with this. Anybody know of any good Anonymous Kink Memes? I know that several fandoms have them, but I don't think I've ever seen an HP specific one, nor have I stumbled across one for any of the other fandoms I lurk in. The closest I've seen is one multi-fandom kink meme. Which...didn't really seem to take off as well as one might hope. Anyone know of any good ones? Think there should be one? Ack.

I've been browsing Etsy all afternoon. I ♥ Etsy. It is seriously addictive. Especially when you haven't really gone shopping for a long while. Or at least, not shopping for fun stuff that you wouldn't other wise use. And I haven't. I love love love having mainly guy friends. But sometimes, it sucks. Like with shopping. Because boys (or at least, my boys) do not do shopping well. I've not really got any girlfriends to do it with. (M needs to come back from Budapest already.) Other than in select areas. Shopping alone just sucks all the fun right out of it.

So I'm browing Etsy, because it's shopping alone and yet still awesome. And lo, there is mad awesome jewelery.

I haven't bought any new jewelery in ages (not counting the ridiculously tacky hootchie-hoops I bought for the Christmas party). And I happen to like jewelery. Like crazy bananas. And I'm seeing fantastic stuff on Etsy, because there are some crazy talented people there. Already I'm feeling that itch to treat myself a little.

And what's great about Etsy is that there is gorgeous stuff in every price range. You can just pick a range and go, and you'll still find more stuff than you could ever get.

So I'm thinking I might splurge a little. Just one little necklace. I need to vary mine up a bit, see. Because my staple for years (and I still love it to bits) is the plain stone pendant (opal, amber, malachite, onyx, turquoise, etc) on a simple chain. And my recent branch out has pretty much been limited to 16" ropes of bead clusters. Love that style too. But I have a limited attention span.

I need recipes for tofu. Recipes that are not stir-fry. If possible.

I consider myself a decent vegetarian chef. I lived in a vegetarian co-op for two years, and spent the better part of that time cooking vegetarian meals for the 100+ person group.

HOWEVER.

I nearly always use beans as my vegetarian protein source. I seriously have no ideas for tofu use outside of varying kinds of stir-fry/Asian cuisine (ie fried tofu w/ dipping sauce, miso soup, etc etc etc).

I know there exist ways that are not disgusting. But I am clueless as to them. And the SO wants me to cook some tofu for dinner.

We've agreed no stir-fry.

I am at a loss.

I had a dream last night with Mountains and Italy and Really Pretty Boys and Dragons. The dragons were more in the Eastern style, and also they looked like Falcor

I don't remember much about the dream. The plot of it was pretty windy and confusing. But there was a lot of pretty. I don't know exactly what brought this on, but I'm not going to complain about getting all that in my dreams. Pretty boys can stop by any time they damn well please. *nods* Also there were pretty dresses and dragon eggs.

I do remember being sad when I woke up that there weren't any fuzzy Falcor-esque dragons for real. :(
